I chose UC Denver for the great opportunities that the university can provide me as a student. The new dorm life on the campus offered an advantage in making friends for an out-of-state student like myself. The location also makes the college life more enjoyable. Area businesses provide opportunities to explore various fields through different offers of internships and business lectures. With restaurants, shops and entertainment close at hand, as a student, I feel like the world is at my fingertips.

Life on campus

Students studying on campusLocated in the heart of downtown Denver, the University of Colorado Denver downtown campus is part of the vibrant Denver community. The campus is part of the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC), which houses three separate institutions, UC Denver, Metropolitan State College and Colorado Community College.

Some resources on campus are shared between the colleges, such as the Tivoli Student Union and the Library.

Life in downtown Denver

The University of Colorado Denver is in the heart of downtown, near LoDo (lower downtown) which is known for its excellent restaurants, shopping and vibrant night life.

Denver has an award winning bus and light rail system so many students commute from all over the Front Range. Others work in downtown offices and can get to classes without another commute.

You may know about Colorado for its wonderful skiing, and while our mountains get plenty of snow, Denver itself tends to have a few storms a year, but with over 300 sunny days, it melts quickly.

Colorado is known for its outdoor experiences, but it is equally known for its culture and quality of life. We are one of the top states for restaurants per capita, and boast top sports and entertainment venues such as the Pepsi Center and the award winning Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
